Afterdark Logo Design
Written by Preston Lee on May 27, 2009 – 9:43 am -I figured it was time for me to start blogging here on my personal portfolio blog again. Sorry for the long delay. I have been working on a new blog on which I can share the many things I learn about Graphic Design and the many different applications it is used in. The name of the new blog is GraphicDesignBlender.com you should definitley check it out.
In the meantime, I have started a new internship at IEProductions here in Idaho Falls and I’m loving designing all day long. My freelance work is also picking up and I was recently asked to design three logos to be proofed by a panel of professional photographers. They are starting an instructional workshop called “Afterdark”. Below are the three logo proofs I gave them. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

New portfolio website 2009

I recently finished the bulk of my 2009 portfolio website which displays my major projects and accomplishments from 2008. I learned and utilized a lot of new tools such as the Lightbox plugin (the overlay that pops up when you click on an image) and a new contact form plugin. These were great fun to play with and learn about. I made the site to match the blog so I can start to brand myself somewhat. Check out the new site and let me know what you think!

SecondStar Photography

Just a quick plug for an up and coming photographer who also happens to be a very good friend of mine. Kylie Burgener has created and recently updated the photo blog for SecondStar Photography, her small photography business.

Logo of the day | Great new site for logo inspiration

I just read today about a great new site that has emerged in the design community. “Logo of the Day” offers daily logo design inspiration, lets you vote on your favorite logo, and is managed by Jeff Fisher and Jacob Cass, two experienced graphic designers. You can see more about the site by reading the original post on Jacob’s website, one of my favorites. They are also running a contest to promote the new site so you can check that out while you are there.
